31-year-old woman targeted and killed at restaurant and bar in Cayo

By Aaron Humes: According to police, 31-year-old Mirza Morales of El Progreso (Seven Miles), Cayo District, was shot dead in her own kitchen at La Casona Restaurant and Bar by an armed intruder.

San Ignacio police investigations reveal that while Morales and one of her workers were inside the kitchen washing dishes around 9:15 p.m., a single tall dark-skinned man in black clothing and wearing a motorcycle helmet entered and approached her and opened fire, before fleeing on a getaway motorcycle toward Georgeville village; no one else was injured.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled and police investigations continue.
