Attempted shooting reported in Ladyville

By Aaron Humes: 25-year-old Joel Gabourel of Perez Road, Ladyville, encountered danger on Saturday when he and another man were shot at by armed attackers.

According to police, Gabourel said he and one Kevin Bowden were on Manta Ray Boulevard in the village when two men approached, coming from the Vista Del Mar area.

The shorter of the two, described as “redskin” and slim built, pointed what appeared to be a firearm at them and Gabourel heard one bang. Both men ran and avoided injury, while the attackers also escaped into nearby bushes.

Police investigations continue.
