Brother who allegedly pulled unlicensed gun on brother is charged and denied bail

By Aaron Humes: 19-year-old Devon Egbert Humes, presuming he is not able to obtain bail before then, will turn 20 behind bars, after being charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the Magistrate’s Court.

Humes appeared before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson and pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded without bail as is standard in cases like these.

The Fern Lane resident was found with the .38 revolver and one live and two expended .38 special rounds on May 22. Some time before that, he had allegedly pointed the weapon at his own brother.

Humes will next appear in court on July 26 and was told he must seek bail from the High Court.
