People’s United Party mourns the passing of Winston Smiling

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The People’s United Party (PUP) is mourning the loss of Winston Smiling, who passed away on May 27, 2023. The Party Leader, Chairman, and National Executive expressed their deep sadness and offered their sympathies to Smiling’s family.

Winston Smiling was a committed member of the PUP and a well-known businessman in Belize. He worked closely with his uncle, George Price, the former Prime Minister, for over forty years. Smiling also served as a Senator under Price and Musa and worked on the board of the Belize Airports Authority for many years.

Within the PUP, Smiling held many important roles, including being a part of the Party’s National Executive Committee. Until his death, he was a respected member of the Order of Distinguished Service (ODS).

The PUP is thankful to Winston Smiling for his lifelong service to Belize and the party. During this difficult time, the Party offers its support and prayers to the Smiling family.

Winston Smiling, who was born on November 11, 1940, will be remembered for his dedication to Belize. The PUP hopes that he will rest in peace and be remembered for his important work.
