After almost five years on remand, murder charges against Darnell Arnold dismissed

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Tonight, 25-year-old Darnell Arnold, who was charged with the 2018 murder of 26-year-old Philmore King, is a free man.

Arnold was supposed to stand trial today in the High Court of Belize when the prosecution filed a nolle prosequi against him, essentially abandoning the case against him.

No reason was given for abandoning the case.

On June 09, 2018, King was shot in the head on his veranda at his Hattieville home. Police arrived to find him clinging to life and rushed him for emergency medical care, however, he died while undergoing treatment.

Arnold was arrested the day after and spent just under five years on remand at the Belize Central Prison.
