By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The International Labour Organization (ILO) hosted a 3-day meeting in Guyana for countries to exchange experiences and share best practices.
The Director General of the ILO called on Caribbean nations to prioritize social justice, to help address multiple challenges, including climate change, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the fallout of global conflicts.
Belize was represented by Minister of Rural Transformation, Community development, Labour and Local Government, Oscar Requena; CEO Valentino Shal and Labour Commissioner Rissela Dominquez-Patt.
Representatives discussed innovative solutions and exchanged experiences of their respective countries.
