Galacticos win Kevin Bernard Orange Walk 1st Division Football Championship on 2-0 triumph over Sindbad

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Galacticos are the new Orange Walk Football Association’s (OWFA) 1^st Division Champions. According to the official report, about 200 fans watched Galacticos capture the Minister Kevin Bernard OWFA 1^st Division Football Championship on a 2-0 win over Sindbad of San Antonio at the Louisiana Football Field in Orange Walk on Sunday

The match was very competitive and dead even until the 76’ when Tivi Ramos powered in the first goal. Then, Nazim Aldana sealed the championship in the 83’.

Minister Bernard presented the awards at the end of the match.

As winners, Galacticos won a $2,000 prize while subchamps Sindbad collected $1,000 prize.

Galacticos won four individual awards. Nathaniel Reyes was voted Most Valuable Player and Best Midfielder. Darrell Novelo won the Best Goalkeeper award and Tivi Ramos won the Best Forward award.

Alwin Zelaya of Charlie’s Cave Tubing won the Top Scorer award. Zelaya scored seven goals in the tournament.

The Best Defender award was taken by Sindbad’s Leonardo Canul.
