Ahmadiyya Basketball Team wins Masroor International Sports Tournament in New York, Nigel Jones voted MVP

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ahmadiyya Basketball Team won the Masroor International Sports Tournament’s (MIST) International Division at Long Island University’s Post campus in New York over the weekend.

According to Rodvern Lino, Nigel Jones was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Lino said the Ahmadiyya Belize team won all its three games on Day One over Canadian and United States teams. In the semifinal, Ahmadiyya won over one of the Canada teams by 12 points and in the final, they triumphed over one of the United States teams by five.

The Ahmadiyya Belize team comprises Nigel Jones, Karimi Lambert, Jayden Lopez, Rasheed Reneau, Antawn Palacio, Raheem Thurton, Cordell Gonzalez, Cylen Wade, Shaquille Crawford, and Roger Reneau.

The coaches are Aldo Manzanero and Jamel Wagner. The team managers are Arslan Warraich and Jacob Leslie.
