International News: Highway shooting in Mexico leaves 10 dead, 4 police injured

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Monday, a shootout between police and armed gunmen left 10 dead and 4 police injured.

According to Reuters, Mexican law enforcement authorities killed 10 heavily armed suspected criminals on the Monterrey-Nuevo Laredo highway.

In addition, police busted 12 large-caliber weapons, grenades, a hundred pieces of ammunition as well as 3 armored trucks.

Mexican authorities continue to struggle with drug cartel violence and high murder rate.
