By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: This week, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations Anthony Mahler and his team met with representatives of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) and the Belize Hotel Association (BHA) to discuss important updates in the tourism industry.
Discussions included the industry’s performance in the first 4 months of the year and its outlook for the summer months.
While the tourism recovery has been positive, the Minister emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to ensure ongoing success.
The BTIA and BHA provided their input on the growth and development needed in the industry, such as more investment in infrastructure, additional training and development for tourism professionals, and increased marketing and promotional efforts to attract more visitors.
The Ministry of Tourism recognizes that tourism is a crucial component of the economy, providing employment and opportunities for thousands of Belizeans.
“The government and private sector are committed to working together to address these challenges and promote sustainable tourism practices that will benefit our country in the long run,” the Ministry noted.
