Heat Alert issued as inland temperatures soar to above 100 degrees

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a heat alert advisory as inland temperatures soar to above 100 degrees.

The forecast is for mostly sunny and hot weather to continue.

Residents, especially those inland should stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible this afternoon.

Later this evening, isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop and could be accompanied by strong damaging winds, heavy rainfall and possible hail.
