By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Popular fashion retailer, Shein is deepening its footprints in North America.
The company is boosting senior leaders and executives to roll out its U.S. marketplace and to meet regulatory compliance.
According to Reuters, Shein is bringing onboard a U.S. head of logistics, who will be a liaison between Shein’s U.S. and Singapore headquarters.
In addition, Shein is hiring an anti-money laundering and compliance executive and a number of U.S. marketplace personnel.
The company has recently faced increased scrutiny from the U.S. due to its connections to China.
The brand is popular in the U.S. and in Belize for its $10 dresses and $5 accessories and many businesses order and sell Shein products including blouses, work and office clothing, men clothing, women, men and kids shoes and household items at affordable prices.
Earlier this year, U.S. representatives called for the Securities and Exchange Commission to halt Shein’s planned initial public offering until it verifies it does not use forced labor.
