Beloved San Ignacio barber, Hiram Tillett, tragically lost in road accident

By BBN Staff: The community of San Ignacio/Santa Elena is in a state of deep sorrow following the tragic death of esteemed local barber, Hiram Tillett.

A skilled craftsman of his trade, Hiram was a prominent figure in San Ignacio. He was involved in a road traffic accident earlier this week in Waukegan, Illinois.

Following the accident, Hiram was promptly rushed to the hospital with critical injuries that posed an immediate threat to his life.

In a bid to be by his side, his family in Belize embarked on a desperate journey, leaving their homeland yesterday in the hopes of seeing him recover.

Tragically, his father, Nelson Tillett, informed friends and relatives just before midday today that Hiram had succumbed to his injuries.

Tributes from heartbroken childhood friends and other members of the community have since flooded social media, as they share cherished memories of Hiram and extend their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Tillett family.
