By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service calls for continued hot temperatures and mostly dry skies today before an increase in shower activity is expected tonight. Skies will be sunny with a few cloudy spells today, becoming mostly cloudy tonight; showers will be isolated at first, then isolated thunderstorms develop inland this afternoon, increasing by evening and spreading to most of the country tonight.
High temperatures peak at 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 98 degrees over inland areas; and 84 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 79 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees over inland areas and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert remains in effect for inland areas and a strong thunderstorm watch has been declared for the possibiity of damaging winds, possible hail and definite heavy rainfall.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at five to 15 knots; sea state is choppy.
Tides will be high at 10:06 this morning and low at 5:48 this evening. The sun sets at 6:25 this evening and rises at 5:17 Tuesday morning.
For Tuesday, expect cloudy skies at times with a few showers or thunderstorms developing.
