Another shooting incident reported in Libertad village – target escapes but vehicle and house shot up

By Aaron Humes: For the second time in a matter of nights, police responded to a report of a shooting incident in Libertad village, Corozal District.

This time, the apparent target was one Wilbert Henry, who was at home with his family sleeping when they awoke to the sound of gunfire.

Henry said he dare not venture outside to respond until the shots ceased and waited until five minutes later to come out. He, therefore, did not see anyone in the area or a vehicle fleeing the scene, but his blue Ford Escape sustained several bullet holes and the front of the house several more.

It follows the shooting death of Kurtis Usher on Saturday night when gunfire sprayed from the bushes near his home and injured his three-year-old son as well, but so far there is no indication whether the incidents are related.

Police are now investigating.
