Belize Agriculture Delegation Visits Honduras: Exploring agri-food facilities and strengthening educational ties

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Jose Abelardo Mai, Minister of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise, is currently on a visit to Honduras, accompanied by CEO Servulo Baeza, Senior Technical Advisor Digno Polanco, and other department officials. This visit will include tours of key agricultural and food processing facilities in the country.

The delegation will examine a cardamom cultivation facility in Cofradia, a meat processing unit, and sweet potato fields in Comayagua. Additionally, they will also visit Zamorano University, a reputed educational institution located in San Pedro Sula.

The visit was initiated by Zamorano University to foster working relations between the university and the Belize Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise. The university is well-regarded within Belize, with many Belizean students either alumni of or currently enrolled in its comprehensive agriculture program.

The Minister and his team are set to return to Belize on Friday, June 9th.
