By Aaron Humes: It appears gunmen were active in Belize City Monday night even under rainfall, as a few minutes before the murder of Trevor Thompson on Fabers Road, there was gunfire heard in the neighborhood of Kraal Road and Rivero Street.
According to police who were operating the booth in the area, they heard a single shot from the direction of the neighborhood shop around 7:05 p.m. The owner of the shop reported serving three men and a female minor when he heard gunfire and saw one of the men he had been serving, dark-skinned and wearing a blue t-shirt and white cargo short pants, take off toward Fabers Road.
Police now suspect that person was the intended target, but have not connected this incident with Thompson’s murder or established who the target was. Their investigations continue.
