According to the Associated French Press, the rains affected 37,000 people and displaced 13,400.
Mayor of Leogane said that residents are desperate after having lost everything.
Mayor Ernson Henry says that families are in dire need of drinking water, food and medicine.
The floods destroyed hundreds of homes and damaged several roads.
Prime Minister Ariel Henry activated the National Emergency Operation Center in response.
