By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture (MAFSE), through the Mesoamerica Hunger Free AMEXCID-FAO programme, will be handing over kitchen items to St Martin’s Government Primary School in Salvapan, Belmopan on Wednesday, June 7.
MAFSE said the initiative comes under the Mesoamerica Hunger Free AMEXCID-FAO programme which aims to eradicate hunger and malnutrition in the Mesoamerican region. The Mesoamerica Hunger Free is a joint effort of the Mexican Government, through the Mexican Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AMEXCID), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), based on the principles of south-south triangular cooperation.
The Programme collaborates with institutions from ten countries in the region, namely Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Dominican Republic,
Present for the handing over will be the Mexican Ambassador Mexican Ambassador Martha Zamarripa, the AMEXCID Director Gloria Sandoval, Minister of State of National Defense and Border Security Oscar Mira, and the Chief Education Officer Yolanda Gongora.
