Posted: Wednesday, June 7, 2023. 10:52 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, firefighters in Canada continue to battle forest fires as the country experiences the worst season of wildfires prompting more evacuations.

According to Reuters, the smoke in the air has caused health concerns in U.S. cities.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is scheduled to provide an update on wildfires today.

According to officials, Quebec is the most affected, reporting some 149 active fires as of today.

Meanwhile, over 12 U.S. states were under air-quality alerts due to the smoke from the wildfires burning in eastern Canada.

Canadian authorities say that more than 120,000 people have been at least temporarily forced out of their homes.
