International News: White House concerned of China’s military “aggressiveness” in Taiwan strait

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Monday, a White House spokesperson said that actions by China’s military traversing the Taiwan Strait reflected “growing aggressiveness.”

According to Reuters, the U.S. Navy released a video citing “unsafe interaction” in the Taiwan Strait, in which a Chinese warship crossed in front of a U.S. destroyer.

White House spokesperson, John Kirby commented, “It won’t be long before somebody gets hurt” and added that these actions were “unprofessional” and “unsafe”.

Kirby asserted that the United States would continue to stand up for the freedom of navigation in the air and sea.
