Belize represented at Global Health Security of the Americas conference

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Belize was represented at the Global Health Security of the Americas conference in May, 2023.

Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Dr. Julio Sabido, Director of Public Health and Wellness, Dr. Melissa Diaz Musa and Dr. Lydia Guerra of the Belize Defence Force participated in the conference.

The conference was aimed at strengthening regional coordination and collaboration in International Health Regulations and at promoting Global Health Security agendas.

One of the primary objectives included the strengthening of regional collaboration and partnership abilities to respond to Public Health Emergencies of international concern especially after the world recently experienced the Covid-19 pandemic.
