Belmopan Bandits re-sign captain Denmark Casey for new PLB Season

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In their efforts to improve their performance next season in the Premier League of Belize (PLB), the Belmopan Bandits have re-signed their captain Denmark Casey.

“Bandits Sports is pleased to announce the signing of national team midfielder and fan favorite, Bandits captain and team leader, Denmark Casey Jr.” Bandits Sports said in a social media post.

“Denmark is no stranger to the Bandits and is expected to lead and guide and help to develop the young talent that is on this new team. Welcome back Captain.”

With the signing of Casey the Bandits are securing one of Belize’s best creative midfielders.

Last season was the Bandits worst ever playing under the name Internacional FC after a merger agreement with a Mexican club. The team.finished dead last in the standings with a more than miserly two points from two draws. They were so bad they couldn’t even record a single victory. Many will tell you it had to do with players’ discontent with the agreement.

As soon as the season closed out, the Bandits announced they were reclaiming their name and have started a recruiting drive. Just two days ago they announced the signing of Michael Palacio, last season’s top scorer, from Port Layola.

The nine-time champions are making sure they don’t have a repeat of last season.
