By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture is hosting a two-day training workshop to develop specific action plans and pilot projects to improve the Value Chain for Coconut, Pitahaya and Potato.
The workshop is funded and facilitated by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of the Advisory Services for improving Agricultural Value Chains in post COVID-19 Belize.
The workshop seeks to present the findings of the value chain survey and to develop specific action plans and pilot projects using the SWOT analysis module and the project evaluation criteria.
The workshop participants include technical officers from the Ministry of Agriculture, University of Belize lecturers, representatives from financial institutions and agricultural organizations, processors, farmers, and wholesalers and retailers.
The workshop is facilitated by JICA consultants.
