By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Former U.S. President, Donald Trump has been indicted on felony charges of mishandling classified documents at his Florida estate, m reports.

Trump is now the first former president in U.S. history to face criminal charges.

If convicted, the former President could even face prison time.

It is a significant case with political implications as well since it could upend a Republican presidential primary that Trump had been dominating.
According to reports, the indictment included seven criminal charges.

Meanwhile, Trump has released a video claiming his innocence and saying that the investigation is a “witch hunt.”

He said he was due in court Tuesday afternoon in Miami, where a federal grand jury had been hearing testimony as recently as this week.
