Cayo Football Association Final, 3rd place game set for Thursday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Cayo Football Association 1st Division Final and third-place games have been scheduled for Thursday to finish ahead of the FFB’s National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC).

The Final will feature Flames and Bullet Tree at 9:00 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium.

Before that 7 Miles and Santa Familia will play the third-place match at 7:00 pm.

Last Saturday, Flames got the first ticket to the finals after a penalty kick shootout broke the 0-0 deadlock that prevailed all the way to the extra tine’s long whistle. Flames won 4-3 in penalty kicks.

Later, Bullet Tree advanced to the Final with a 2-1 win over Santa Familia in the other semifinal.

The winners of the Final not only win the Cayo First Division Championship, but they also earn a ticket to the NAIC along with Opening Season Champions 7 Miles. The new Cayo Champions will play Caesar Ridge at the Norman Broaster on Saturday afternoon. 7 Miles will visit Club Atletico in Belmopan at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium on Sunday.
