By Breaking Belize News Staff: Today’s forecast by the National Meteorological Service calls for sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers will be isolated with isolated thunderstorms occurring over the extreme south this morning and tonight.
High temperatures reach 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 98 degrees in inland areas, and 84 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 82 degrees along the coast, 74 degrees inland and 70 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect. Residents, especially in inland areas, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible, especially during the afternoon hours.
Winds are easterly at ten to 20 knots with higher gusts, and sea state is running moderate to rough. A small craft caution is in effect for occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas.
Tides will be high at 8:48 this morning and 10:41 tonight and low at 4:27 later this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:29 this evening, rising at 5:18 on Sunday morning.
Sunday should see similar weather.
