Cayo man murdered during triple shooting incident; two females also injured

By Aaron Humes: One man was fatally shot following an altercation on Sunday night in the village of Camalote, Cayo District on Sunday, while two females were also hospitalized with gunshot injuries.

According to police, Maria Guevara and Wilmer Ordonez, who are in a relationship, got into an argument around 7 a.m. Sunday morning at Ordonez’s farm in Camalote. She left and did not return until eight in the evening.

According to Guevara, she heard a motorcycle on the road in front of the farm and Wilmer headed out in that direction. Thereafter there was a commotion and shots fired, and Wilmer Ordonez was found lying face up in the road with a gunshot wound to the body. Guevara herself was also shot as well as Luzbin Ordonez, 24, of Camalote, although it is not clear in what circumstances either was injured.

All were transported to the Western Regional Hospital where Guevara identified her alleged shooter to police.

Police investigations continue.
