Timothy Morey, charged for possession of crack pipe, changes plea from not guilty to guilty

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man was fined in court after owning up to being in possession of a crack pipe.

Timothy Morey appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with possession of a pipe adapted for smoking drugs. He originally pleaded not guilty but then changed his plea to guilty.

Morey asked the court for a fine instead of prison time, explaining that he is the father of a child and the sole breadwinner of his home, since the child’s mother is unemployed.

He was fined $250 plus $5 cost of court which he must pay by August 31 or he will face two months in prison.
