By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two of the three suspects who are accused of breaking into the Michael Finnegan Market and brutally beating the security guards are on remand at the Belize Central Prison while police seek the third.
The first to be remanded was Edward Saldano; the second was 23-year-old, Shemaud Nunez. The men have been charged with burglary, grievous harm and use of deadly means of harm.
Allegations are that on Friday May 26, 2023, Nunez, Saldano and another entered Santos Poultry Products, Stall #12 located inside the Michael Finnegan Market located on West Collect Canal and stole $700 in cash and a cell phone charger. They are also accused of beating the security guards with a crowbar and a firearm, hospitalizing 22-year-old Robert Goff.
Nunez and Saldano are due back in court on June 30.
