By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) say that Tropical Storm Bret is weakening as it passes north of Aruba.

As of this morning, Tropical Storm Bret was located some 45 miles North northeast of Aruba.

Tropical Storm Bret is forecast to degenerate into a trough over the weekend.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.

Additional weakening is forecast today and tonight, and Bret is expected to dissipate over the central Caribbean Sea tonight or early Sunday.
