Belize River Valley man is killed in knockdown by bus

By Aaron Humes: Juan Charlesworth, 37, of Scotland Halfmoon, Belize District, is the latest victim of a road traffic mishap reported over the weekend.

According to police, Charlesworth was riding a bicycle at the junction of Lemonal village when he was apparently knocked down by a bus being driven by one Elvis Dawson.

Dawson gave a sample for testing for use of alcohol and served with a notice of intended prosecution. Charlesworth’s body was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where an examination is scheduled as police investigations continue.
