Is body found in Biscayne over weekend missing Iran “Basco” Jones?

By Aaron Humes: Tonight, police have yet to positively confirm the identity of human remains found Saturday afternoon in the village of Biscayne, Belize District.

But the family of missing man Iran “Basco” Jones is convinced they are his. He was last seen in Hattieville village approximately two weeks ago getting food and had relocated there following his reportedly testifying in a murder trial. Today police would not say whether that has been linked to his disappearance.

The decomposed remains were removed from a shallow grave and a post-mortem examination has been scheduled.

Reports from the area say the remains were located along a feeder road, recently resurfaced, that leads to property owned by the Belize Defence Force inland of the village off the Philip Goldson Highway.

Investigations continue and the result of the post-mortem examination is awaited.
