Canon Leroy Flowers – Much condolences for a humble and godly man

By Celeste Chang: As friends and family, the wider Anglican Community and Belizeans in general grieve the death of Canon Leroy Flowers, condolences continue to come in for this humble and godly role model. Father Flowers was the shepherd at St. Mary’s Church in Belize City for over 30 years but has been ailing for over a year now. Breaking Belize News (BBN) join in the mourning of Canon Leroy Flowers and acknowledge the tributes made to him.

John E Clark of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida and founder of ‘No One Hungry’ organization based in Florida, was a dear friend of Canon Flowers. He wrote “My heart is saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Canon Leroy Flowers, of the Anglican Diocese of Belize…May God comfort all who grieve the passing of this great spiritual leader and friend.”

Speaking for the Baptist community, Pastor Ashley Rocke offered deepest condolences to Canon Flowers’ immediate, extended and Anglican family. “May the soul of the dear depose rest in peace.”

Tracy Panton, area representative for the Albert Division, took to social media saying “May God’s perpetual light shine upon you Most Rev Canon Norman Leroy Flowers and May your precious soul rest in eternal peace. Heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to the Flowers Family and to all who mourn his passing. Well done faithful servant of God’s holy church.” Her colleague, Patrick Faber added “Rest easy Canon Leroy Flowers! May your soul rest in peace and rise in glory!”

Не wіll bе rеmеmbеrеd bу thоѕе whо wеrе fоrtunаtе еnоugh tо hаvе knоwn hіm реrѕоnаllу оr hаvе bееn tоuсhеd bу hіѕ wоrk.”
