By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize will be playing Aruba, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Bonaire in the Concacaf 2023 Road to the Women’s Gold Cup. However, being in League C, it means Belize has no hopes of making it to the Gold Cup as no team from that level can aspire to reach the first ever Women’s Gold Cup to be held in 2024.
Only teams in League A and B have hopes of making next year’s inaugural World Cup. Concacaf didn’t specify how teams will move up or down from one league to another.
In League C, Belize will be in Group A and will play Aruba, Bonaire and Turks and Caicos Islands on a home and away basis.
The four groups in League C, which comprises 14 countries are:
Group A: Belize, Aruba, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Bonaire.
Group B: Cuba, Saint Lucia, Guadeloupe, and Sint Maarten.
Group C: US Virgin Islands, Grenada, and Bahamas.
Group D: Curacao, Cayman Islands, and Anguilla.
