By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize cyclists Oscar Quiroz and Derrick Chavarria compete Wednesday morning in the Individual Time Trial at the Central American & Caribbean Games being held in El Salvador starting at 10:30 am.
Chavarria starts as the eighth cyclist in a field of 19 at 10:38 am. Quiroz will start tenth at 10:40 am.
Top seeded Colombian Miguel Angel López Moreno will start at 10:49.
The events will be held by the Ichanmichen Water Park in the city of Zacatecoluca. That’s the city where Krisean Lopez played in the Salvadoran Professional Football League with Platense during the 2022-23 Closing Championship which finished recently.
On Friday, Quiroz and Chavarria will compete in the Men’s Road Race at 11:00 am. Forty-six cyclists will compete in that race. Kaya Cattouse will represent in the Women’s Road Race on Friday at 9:00 am. She’ll be competing in a field of 37 riders.
