Police lay first charges in Rivero Street-Fabers Road shootout, charge 20-year-old Dwayne Tillett for attempted murder

By Aaron Humes: 20-year-old Dwayne Douglas Tillett of Rivero Street has been charged for the attempted murder of Aaron Matura on Fabers Road on Sunday morning.

Matura is one of two persons that were shot during an incident that began on Rivero Street when alleged gunman Jafeth Stamp, 16, was shot and killed when he allegedly tried to get the jump on a group of men cleaning a yard.

According to police, after Stamp was mortally wounded and died in the middle of Rivero Street, a man now believed to be Tillett and have been alleged to be his accomplice, picked up his firearm and went into a yard on Fabers Road where he allegedly chased and shot Matura, before firing at a third person while running away.

As yet there is no indication whether anyone will be charged in the death of Stamp, who is from the Jane Usher Boulevard area.
