Prime Minister and Minister of Public Utilities discuss energy policy

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On July 5, 2023, Prime Minister John Briceño met with the Public Utilities Commission and Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics and E-Governance to discuss Belize’s energy policy and the way forward.

“A rapidly developing economy and growing population increase the demands on all support services and national infrastructure,” the Prime Minister said.

“The recent extreme heat wave and prolonged dry has only emphasized the energy demand of our exponential national economic growth and growing population’s need to diversify and increase our energy mix,” he added.
