By Rubén Morales Iglesias: On Thursday, an inspection team visited a number of Toledo District beneficiaries who received covered structures or greenhouses from the ‘Covered Structure and Capacity Enhancement Project’, to evaluate their current condition and performance. The team consisted of a CDF representative, staff from the Ministry of Agriculture’s Projects Execution Unit, the leader of the construction team and some of the project beneficiaries.
The ‘Covered Structure and Capacity Enhancement Project’ is a joint initiative of the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) and the Ministry of Agriculture, aimed at providing covered structures or greenhouses to selected farmers in the Toledo district.
The purpose of this inspection was to verify that the greenhouses were built according to the project specifications and standards, and that they were functioning well and contributing to the improvement of agricultural practices and productivity in the Toledo district. This inspection was also an opportunity for the stakeholders to exchange feedback and suggestions on how to further enhance the project’s impact and sustainability.
