By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize City Civic Center will be the venue for the U-19 Women’s Central American Volleyball Championship, organized by the Belize Volleyball Association (BVA) and the Association of Central American Volleyball Federations (AFECAVOL) from July 16-22, 2023.
This AFECAVOL event will feature all seven Central American volleyball federations: Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.
Our U-19 national team is eager to compete and showcase their skills and spirit for Belize. The team members are Sammani Carcamo, Dasialynn Thurton, Akili Jones, Zanyah Hall, Jevia Leslie, Nisaan Martinez, Blessed Omamurhe, Ziane Henderson, Khaya Gordon, Kaeley Bennett, Kaleigh Cardinez, and Avianka Avila.
The Head Coach is Cuban Jose Fontes and the Assistant Coaches are Lupita Quan and Nelissa Ramirez.
Team Belize will play six matches, one against each opponent, at 7:30 pm every night except for Tuesday, July 18, which is a rest day. Here is the schedule of matches for Team Belize:
Sun, Jul 16: Belize vs Panama
Mon, Jul 17: Belize vs. Costa Rica
Wed, Jul 19: Belize vs Honduras
Thu, Jul 20: Belize vs Nicaragua
Fri, Jul 21: Belize vs Guatemala
Sat, Jul 22: Belize vs El Salvador
You can buy your tickets starting from Thursday, July 13 at the Civic Center Ticket Office. The prices are: $5 Kids Under 10 years old, $10 General Admission, and $20 VIP.

The Belize Volleyball Association is asking Belizeans to attend the games to cheer for Team Belize every night at the Belize City Civic Center.
