By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Jewel Fury won the final game of the National Amateur Women’s League at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan on Saturday in extra time, 4-3 over the Sagitun GIRLZ to claim the National Championship on a 5-4 aggregate score.
The First Final finished 1-1 the previous week at the Michael Ashcroft in Independence on Saturday.
Suswani Martinez scored three goals in the definitive Final to give Jewel Fury the edge.
The Sagitun GIRLZ opened the scoring on a goal by Jurshia Zuniga in the 14th minute and went ahead 2-0 three minutes later when Pauline Linarez netted the second goal. Suswani Martinez cut the lead to 2-1 in the 21st, but the Sagitun GIRLZ increased the lead to 3-1 lead in the 62nd when Sabrina Eiley found the net.

Jewel Fury fought back and made it 3-2 on another Martinez goal and then when the game was expiring, Jennisha Scott pulled off a miracle tying the match at 3-3 in the third minute of injury time. That forced overtime in which Martinez scored the only goal in the 108th minute to give Jewel Fury the title and the crown on a 5-4 aggregate score.
Martinez was voted the MVP of the competition. Her teammates Khalidiya Velasquez was the top scorer and Idania Ramirez the Best Goalkeeper. Scott was voted the best midfielder. The Sagitun GIRLZ Eiley was the best forward and Olivia Dacosta the best defender.
