Ministry of Rural Transformation commences expansion and upgrading of water systems in Santa Familia and Billy White Villages

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management and Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government have commenced the expansion and upgrading of the water systems in Santa Familia and Billy White Villages, Cayo.

The groundbreaking was done by the Minister of Sustainable Development, Orlando Habet, Minister of Rural Transformation, Oscar Requena and village council chairs.

The project is being completed through collaboration with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center, through the European Union-funded project, Global Climate Change Alliance Plus Program.

The project aims to increase water availability in those communities, ensuring clean potable water for all residents.

Furthermore, the goal is to enhance climate resilience in CARIFORUM countries.
