Verdes starts promoting game against Honduras’ Motagua in CONCACAF Central American Cup on August 2

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Verdes have already started promoting their first game in the CONCACAF Central American Cup set for Wednesday, August 2 at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan. Belize’s champs are playing in Group D and are opening with two home games against Central American powerhouses Honduras’ Motagua and Costa Rica’s Liga Deportiva Alajuelense.

According to Concacaf, the match will kick off at 4:00 pm. Tickets cost $25 dollars before game day when they will go up to $35.

“This is not just any game; it is a battle of wills, a test of strength and a demonstration of pure talent that will leave you on the edge of your seat,” Verdes said in a social media post.

Verdes’ then host LD Alajuelense at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 8 at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.

The final two games will be played away.

In Week 3, Verdes visit Sporting San Miguelito at 5:00 pm (4:00 pm Belize time) at the Rommel Fernández Stadium in Panama City on Wednesday, August16.

And in Week 4, the Green Machine travel to Honduras to take on Olancho at the Chelato Uclés Stadium in Tegucigalpa, Honduras at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23. Belize and Honduras have the same time.

The Central American Cup group stage runs from August 1-31. The quarterfinals will be held at the end of September. The semifinals and the play-in are scheduled for October and the finals in November and December. The tournament should be over by December 7.

These are the four groups:

Group A: Saprissa, Cobán Imperial, Cartaginés, CD Universitario, and Jocoro

Group B: Olimpia, Xelajú, CAI Panama, FAS, Real Estelí

Group C: Comunicaciones, Herediano, Real España, Aguila, Diriangén

Group D: Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, Motagua, Olancho, Sporting San Miguelito, Verdes
