Belize City man fined for damage to vehicle

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City resident is in debt to the court in the sum of a grand for damaging a man’s vehicle over the weekend.

27-year-old Jermaine Wagner, a resident of Antelope Street Extension, Belize City, appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Khiana Gordon accused of damaging a blue Dodge Caravan and two of its left back glass windows, value $1,500, property of Barry Patnett on Saturday, July 15.

Wagner pleaded guilty and apologized to the court and also promised to apologize to Patnett. He was fined $1,000 and cost of court due by September 29, in default three months in jail, but Patnett will have to pursue a civil suit to recover the cost of damage to the vehicle which is greater than a thousand dollars.
