By Aaron Humes: A police officer earned the ire of a would-be customer for closing the shop he was working at too early on Monday night, landing him in the hospital.
Constable Zani Savala was on special duty at Good Will Store on Central American Boulevard on Monday night when at ten minutes to nine, he closed the gate of the shop shut to signal closing time of 9 p.m. Only those still buying and paying were left inside.
The accused wanted to enter the shop but when the officer explained that it was close to closing time and that only those already inside would be tended to, the young man got angry and an argument ensued.
Then, the would-be customer pulled out a knife from his pants and stabbed the officer to his left arm. He was quickly detained by other officers and P.C. Savala was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Police investigation continues.
