Belize take over 2nd place in XIV Under 19 Women’s Central American Volleyball Championship with 3-0 whipping of Nicaragua

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize beat Nicaragua 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-14) on Thursday and knocked them out of the second spot in the XIV Under 19 Women’s Central American Volleyball Championship. The victory pushed Belize to a 3-1 record dropping Nicaragua to a 3-2 record. Both, however, trail Costa Rica who lead with a perfect 4-0 record with 19 points.

Belize hold the second place with 16 and Nicaragua the third with 13.

El Salvador are in fourth position with a 2-2 record for 11 points and Guatemala dropped to the fifth position with 2-2 as well but only 10 points.

Panama follow in sixth position with one victory and four losses for a total of 5 points. Honduras bring up the rear with four losses for one single point.

Costa Rica are favoured to win the regional competition leaving Belize, Nicaragua, El Salvador along with Guatemala vying for the second spot. Belize, though, have the edge with a 3-1 record.
