By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Institute of Archaeology announced early this morning that all water activities at the Nohoch Che’en Archaeological Reserve will remain suspended until further notice. This decision comes as a result of elevated river levels, a consequence of persistent rainfalls in the region.
The Institute of Archaeology issued a statement at 6:00 am today stating, “Due to elevated river levels caused by the continued rains, all water activities remain suspended at the Nohoch Che’en Archaeological Reserve. We prioritize the safety of our visitors, staff, and local residents, hence this precautionary measure.”
The Institute is closely monitoring the situation and working with local authorities to assess when it will be safe to resume water-based activities at the Reserve. Regular updates will be provided to keep the public and prospective visitors informed.
Visitors are urged to comply with this temporary suspension for their safety, and all are encouraged to explore the many other unique and captivating attractions that Belize has to offer in the meantime.
