Shane Orio Football Academy Camp a success!

By Celeste Chang: The Shane Orio Football Academy Camp in Belmopan, for children ages 5-12, which took place on July 10th-21st was a success!

Children from all ages came out, and so many hands came in to help. The intention of this camp was to aid in their development of team spirit, allow the children to build new connections, assist in the sharpening of their talent in football and allow them to enjoy being active and engaged outside.

The Social Security Board (SSB) and the Shane Orio Football Academy partnered together for the camp. “We are overjoyed to have been part of this enriching experience, witnessing the young athletes’ growth and camaraderie throughout the camp. Our commitment to empowering lives and ensuring brighter futures extends to supporting initiatives that promote skill development, teamwork, and active lifestyles for the youth in our community,” SSB said, expressing its gratitude and giving a thank you to all participants, coaches, and volunteers who made the camp a resounding success!

It is beautiful to see young talented children given opportunities that will assist in their development as productive citizens of Belize. There has been a number of summer camps to nurture the young impressionable minds of our youth and we look forward to how the sparks these programs have made will cause an explosion of innovative and ambitious young people.
