By Rubén Morales Iglesias: El Salvador challenge powerful Dominican Republic at 2:00 pm on Day 2 of the Boys Under 17 FIBA CentroBasket Championship being hosted by the Belize Basketball Federation at the Belize City Civic Center.
The Dominican Republic are coming off a 102-51 whipping of Costa Rica in Group B while El Salvador suffered a heavy defeat to Mexico 99-48 on Wednesday.
Costa Rica will try to bounce back against Mexico at 4:00 pm but it’s not going to be an easy task.
In Group A, the defending champions Puerto Rico will play against Panama at 6:30 pm, while Belize will end the day with a game against Jamaica at 8:30 pm.
On the first day, Puerto Rico overwhelmed Jamaica 102-54, while Belize took down Panama 78-67 in the closest game so far. While Puerto Rico are highly favoured to defeat Panama, the Jamaicans are up to spoiling Belize’s good start.
