International News: Concert goer files report after being struck by item thrown from stage at Cardi B show

By Celeste Chang: While Cardi B was performing at Drai’s Beach Club in Las Vegas over the weekend, an audience member threw a drink toward the stage, seen in viral video footage posted to social media, according to CNN.

In the clip, Cardi B was seen getting splashed with liquid from the cup. This all occurred while performing her 2018 hit “Bodak Yellow.” As a response Cardi tossed her microphone into the audience as security guards rushed to the stage and into the crowd.

However, in another video recently shared to social media from the concert, it was revealed that Cardi B was seen asking the crowd to “splash” her with water due to the heat, and the crowd started splashing her with water. It’s still not clear if this occurred before or after the incident with the microphone.

CNN reported that “a concertgoer has filed a report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) after being “struck by an item that was thrown from the stage,” according to police in a statement. While the police did not mention Cardi B in their reported statement, the address of the incident that was reported matches the location where Cardi was performing on Saturday.

Authorities say, “According to the victim, she was attending an event on July 29, 2023, at a property located in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard. During a concert, she was struck by an item that was thrown from the stage,”.

There has been no arrest or citation issued.
